Resumo:
Esta comunicação pretende analisar e discutir algumas hipóteses acerca do cotidiano entre livres e escravos na Vila de Vassouras durante a primeira metade do século XIX e a intervenção dos agentes do Estado imperial neste cotidiano. Para tanto, buscou-se utilizar tanto a historiografia sobre o tema quanto fontes documentais, das quais são exemplos: manuais agrícolas, códigos de postura e livros administrativos da justiça. A partir deste corpus historiográfico e documental, buscou-se identificar os aspectos violentos e criminais, tanto físicos quanto simbólicos, do cotidiano no qual as relações entre estes atores até então tidas como inequivocamente estabelecidas através dos costumes, principalmente em áreas agrárias, se tornam complexas; e os resultados dos processos levados aos Tribunais de JÚri passam a ter outros significados e possibilidades de análise.

Abstract
This paper aims at analyzing and discussing some hypotheses about daily activities of free people and slaves in the Village of Vassouras during the first half of the nineteenth century and the intervention of the imperial state in this relation. For this purpose, we attempted to use both the historiography on the subject and documentary sources, such as criminal cases, inventories and administrative justice books. From this historiographical and documentary corpus, we sought to identify the violent and criminal daily aspects, both physical and symbolic, in which relations between these actors regarded hitherto as unequivocally established through customs, especially in agricultural areas, become complex; and the results of the cases taken to Court have other meanings and possibilities of analysis.
